Play Dead Studio
Creators of the visual identity and set design for Hungary’s biggest television channels.
↓ We met in 1993 at university. The architecture program didn’t fulfil our creative ambitions, so at first, we considered switching institutions. ↓ As a student, Balázs was already creating 3D visualisations for architecture studios and teaching CAD software to our fellow classmates, while also studying computer animation on his own. ↓ Balázs passed on his knowledge to Pál along with the 3D Studio software on ten floppy disks. From here, there was no turning back. ↓ In 1997, we started working under the name Dogfish, around the time the first commercial TV channels were launched in Hungary. ↓ At that time, the channels didn’t know how to handle modern equipment or what they wanted to see on the screen, so we got chance to show what we could do. ↓ More and more television networks and companies began to understand the importance of design. RTL, later MTVA (Hungarian Public TV), and TV2 (former member of ProSieben Sat1 Group) entrusted us with working as creative leads on their visual identity. ↓ Balázs founded Play Dead Studio in 2008 and Pál joined him in 2015. We design and produce TV show identities, set designs, video wall animations and exhibition installations.
